The Japanese attacker was expected to miss the remainder of the season before an inexplicably short rehab period
Brendan Rodgers has addressed suggestions that Daizen Maeda could return to action much sooner than expected this season.
The Celtic attacker was expected to be ruled out until the end of the campaign after suffering a significant hamstring injury. We told earlier this week how the manager had hinted during a Q&A with fans on Wednesday night that the 26-year-old could be in the running for a spot in the squad in the coming weeks including potentially against Rangers on May 11.
And now the boss has clarified the timeline for Maeda’s possible early comeback with the Japanese star hopeful of continuing his history of speedy recoveries from injuries
The manager confirmed that Maeda is back on the grass training but will not be available to play against Dundee at Dens this weekend. However the player could be back in contention when they play Hearts on May 4.
