Tottenham skipper Son Heung-min admits they will not change their style of play in the North London derby.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are all set to square up against Ange Postecoglou’s men at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. The North London derby this time around promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller as both teams are in desperate need of all three points.
Arsenal are currently top of the Premier League. They have a one-point advantage over Manchester City who have a game in hand. A defeat to Tottenham could end their pursuit of the league title.
Meanwhile, Spurs are pushing for a top-four finish and they are currently fifth in the points table. They are six points behind Aston Villa but they have two games in hand. A win will take them closer to their objective, a defeat will make things a lot more difficult.
Ahead of the game against Arsenal, Spurs skipper Son Heung-min has made it clear that his team won’t make any changes to their style of play. They will look to continue with the attacking brand of football that has become a trademark of this team under Postecoglou.
Son said via Standard: “We’re still a little bit inexperienced because we’re building a young team, some of them are in their first season in the Premier League. So look, we can test ourselves against one of the biggest teams in Europe and the Premier League. But also in the world.
“So I think it’s very important the way we play: stick to our [style of] play, stick to our game. I think it’s a very, very good test. As I said, it’s against one of the best teams in the world so it’s perfect [for us]. You want to always have good competition and you always want to face the best teams in the world.”
While the Spurs captain spoke highly about Arsenal, he made it clear that despite having a young team that lacks experience, they will stick to their plans and look to test themselves against Mikel Arteta’s men who are currently one of the best in the world.
