The Buddies have identified the midfielder as the man they want
St Mirren are looking to make Crystal Palace youngster Kofi Balmer their first signing this summer, according to a report.
Saints boss Stephen Robinson is already looking ahead to next season after securing a second successive top six finish, and his club have opened talks with Palace over the midfielder, 23. The Northern Irishman is under contract but it’s thought the Eagles would be open to letting him leave for first-team football, reports the Daily Record.
Balmer is currently on loan at AFC Wimbledon in League Two after a spell at Port Vale in the decision above earlier in the season. He broke through at Ballymena in his homeland before moving to Larne which is where Crystal Palace spotted him and snapped him up after just one season.
The Buddies have a good relationship with Palace after Dylan Reid moved there last year and that could help them get a deal done.
Meanwhile, St Mirren will be without Celtic loanee Kwon for the rest of the season after he picked up a hamstring injury.
