Leeds United chiefs are not considering parting with manager Daniel Farke if he fails to deliver promotion this season, sources have told Football Insider.
The Whites were on the wrong end of the latest twist in the race for automatic promotion on Friday (26 April), losing 4-0 away at Queens Park Rangers.
Leeds sit second in the Championship but are level on points with Ipswich Town, who have a game in hand on Farke’s side.
Promotion is out of the Yorkshire giants’ hands with Ipswich needing four points to secure the runners-up spot.
Southampton, West Brom, Norwich and Hull are the sides Leeds could face in the playoffs, which kick off in mid-May.
Leeds United won’t sack Farke if promotion bid fails
But even if Farke fails to guide his side back to the Premier League, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that there will be “no thoughts” of sacking the 47-year-old in the boardroom at Elland Road.
Leeds chiefs have been impressed with the German’s performance – most during the 15-match unbeaten run at the start of 2024 which dragged them back into the title race.
Farke is under contract with the Whites until June 2027.
The Whites have won just one of their last five Championship games ahead of their final second-tier game against Southampton on Saturday (4 May).
Leeds have won 27 of their 45 league matches so far in the 2023-24 campaign.
Farke has twice been promoted from the Championship as league champion with Norwich City.
