Leicester City team news v QPR as Ricardo Pereira missing

How Leicester City line up at the King Power Stadium as they take on relegation-battlers QPR, with teenager Ben Nelson handed his first home league start for the club

Ricardo Pereira is missing from the Leicester City squad to face QPR as Enzo Maresca selects Ben Nelson to replace the suspended Jannik Vestergaard.

Ricardo is absent for just the second time in the Championship this season having done well to maintain his fitness, and he could be a big miss at the King Power Stadium. In his place, Hamza Choudhury is playing in the hybrid full-back role while Dennis Praet starts in attacking midfield.

Praet for Ricardo is one of two changes from the City team that lost to Leeds just over a week ago, with Nelson replacing Vestergaard in the other. Conor Coady and Callum Doyle were other contenders, but the teenager is handed his first home league start for the club.

Nelson’s inclusion will see Wout Faes play as the central defender when City move into a back three. James Justin will play on the left.

Up front, Patson Daka keeps his place having been publicly supported by Maresca after his one-on-one miss at Leeds. Jamie Vardy and Tom Cannon are the two strikers on the bench, with Kelechi Iheanacho again missing out.

Elsewhere, Harry Winks, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Stephy Mavididi return to the team refreshed after being afforded a night off at Bournemouth in the FA Cup in midweek. Abdul Fatawu, who came off the bench to score the winner on the south coast, starts in City’s front three.
