Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Adam Idah’s future at Celtic is uncertain, with no option to buy clause in his loan deal from Norwich City.
Having joined from David Wagner’s side on deadline day in January, Idah has proven himself as a more than capable option upfront for Celtic, despite some doubts surrounding his goal-scoring abilities.
The Irish striker has netted five goals and provided an assist in six league appearances, showing that in his short time in Glasgow, his impact has been immediate.
Rodgers said: (Glasgow World), “We’ll assess that at the end of the season. It’s not all in our hands. It would need to be negotiated.”
Idah will be looking to continue his impressive goal-scoring form this afternoon against Livingston, with Rodgers once again naming the Irishman upfront over Kyogo Furuhashi in the starting 11.
Signing Idah in the summer may prove to be a difficult task for Celtic, with likely competition from English sides and the outside chance that Norwich themselves may want to keep him.
However, at 23 years old, the Irish striker is exactly what the Hoops need, and if they can sign him, he will prove to be a valuable asset over the next couple of years.
