Packers Projected To Have Big Regret About 2024 Offseason Move

The Green Bay Packers went through some major changes during the NFL offseason this year. Among the notable departures were David Bakhtiari and Aaron Jones. Both of those players have been longtime stars for the franchise and a huge part of all the success the team has had in recent years.

It was a bittersweet offseason. Losing Jones, especially, hit the fan base hard. Jones has been a fan favorite since he joined the team and when healthy, he has been one of the best running backs in the NFL.

To replace Jones, the Packers chose to bring in former Las Vegas Raiders star Josh Jacobs. When the news broke that Jacobs was signing with Green Bay, it shocked the entire NFL word. However, the Packers feel confident that they made the right move.

While the Green Bay Packers may be feeling confident about their move to replace Jones with Jacobs, there are many who are not feeling so hot about the decision.

Green Bay Packers Projected To Have Big Regret About Move For Josh Jacobs

Bleacher Report analyst Kristopher Knox has projected that the Packers may have a big regret about signing Jacobs and letting Jones walk.

Here’s what he had to say about the situation in a recent article.

“The bad news is shortly after adding Jacobs, the Packers decided to part with running back and locker room leader Aaron Jones. If Jacobs stumbles at all this season, Green Bay will regret letting one of its top leaders leave for a division rival.”

Looking at the new Green Bay Packers’ running back, it does appear that he’ll be a good fit for the offense. He has playmaking ability, but he’s also a bruiser when he needs to be.

He had a down 2023 season with the Raiders due to their poor offensive line and passing game. In the 13 regular season games he played, he carried the football 233 times for 805 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught 37 passes for 296 yards.

What the Green Bay Packers are most excited about, is seeing the production he had in 2022. He racked up 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns on 340 carries. In addition to his rushing numbers, he caught 53 passes for 400 yards.

All of that being said, it will be very interesting to see how this situation plays out for the Packers. They made a bold and aggressive move and it could pay off or be a bust. Jacobs has a great situation to work with and hopefully he can make the most of it.
