Sad News for Bristol City player He won’t play again

When Stoke City plays Bristol City in the Championship later today, they will be hoping to put on another strong showing.

After a draw over the weekend, Stoke City will try to win all three points today even though they appear to be settling in under new manager Narcis Pelach.

The Potters and Pelach’s previous employers, Norwich City, engaged in a competitive match. It ended in a 1-1 draw, which was maybe to be expected in a match between two bosses who had collaborated until lately.

It puts Stoke 16th in the Championship, still a way off where they’ll hope to be this year. Bigger things are expected after the controversial decision to part ways with Steven Schumacher.

They face a Bristol City side fresh off the back of a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Stoke City team news

The big Stoke City news ahead of this weekend’s game is that key midfielder Wouter Burger is a doubt after coming off in the Norwich City draw. Pelach confirmed the Dutchman is to be assessed and a decision will be made.

Question marks remain over former Blackburn Rovers man Sam Gallagher’s injury and how long he is facing out but he will not be involved against Bristol City.

Among those still sidelined Lyndon Gooch, Ben Pearson and summer signing Bosun Lawal.
