Kevin Byard Reacts After Joining Bears

The Chicago Bears have made a lot of headlines lately, with the 2024 NFL Draft drawing near and the storied franchise owning the No. 1 pick for the second straight year.

Although everyone is talking about the upcoming draft and what the Bears will do at No. 1, with the consensus being that the team will draft USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams at No. 1 and eventually trade Justin Fields, it appears the franchise has been busy doing other things as well.

On Sunday, the team made an upgrade to the defensive side of the football, with the Bears bringing in safety Kevin Byard.

After spending the 2023 NFL season with the Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles, the veteran safety will head to the Windy City as one of the team’s best acquisitions during the offseason.

Byard took to Twitter to express his excitement about joining the Bears on Sunday with a couple of emojis that translate to: “Bear down.”

As a two-time All-Pro, Byard is definitely an upgrade at the safety position, which could be the start of some upgrades across the board, with the most anticipated move being the team drafting Williams out of the University of Southern California.

During the 2023 campaign, Byard played in 16 games, recording one interception, three passes defensed, and 50 solo tackles.

It’ll be interesting to see if Byard is the first of many moves the team makes during the offseason and if these moves will be enough to lead the team back into the playoff picture in the NFC and be competitive in the NFC North division.
