Suns Reveal Injury Report vs Cavs; Booker Upgraded

.PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns have submitted their initial injury report for Monday’s contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers:

PROBABLE – Devin Booker (right ankle sprain)

OUT – Eric Gordon (knee contusion), Damion Lee (meniscus), Nassir Little (knee inflammation) and Josh Okogie (ab strain)

The Cavaliers have not yet released theirs.

The biggest piece of news comes on the front for Booker, who has missed the prior four games due to his ankle sprain. He was questionable for Saturday’s slate against the Boston Celtics but ultimately didn’t play.

After the game, teammate Kevin Durant told reporters he was excited to get Booker back, though the team wasn’t in a rush.

“Yeah, another guy that can create for himself and create for others. Phenomenal leader, someone that we look to all game. I am excited to get him back, but we definitely don’t want to rush him back,” said Durant following the loss.

“It is an important part of the season, and we need him to be as healthy as possible. If we can buy another couple hours, another couple days for him to get him right, we definitely could do that but we miss him out on the floor.”

Lee was spotted doing work on the court at Friday’s practice, a good sign for his involvement. Earlier in the year, Suns coach Frank Vogel told reporters Lee was expected back at some point before the postseason after having surgery on a torn meniscus ahead of training camp.

Little and Okogie have missed the prior games entering Cleveland with their respective injuries while Gordon is a fresh addition.

Phoenix is 37-27 entering Monday’s road tilt.
