BREAKING: Bears Announce A Decision At Quarterback For 2024 Season

The Chicago Bears made one decision at quarterback on Wednesday. The Bears’ quarterback situation has been the talk of the NFL this offseason.

The Bears will have to decide if they want to draft a quarterback, likely Caleb Williams, with the No. 1 pick in the draft, or if they will stick with Justin Fields.

The Chicago Bears are keeping their cards close on Justin Fields

The Bears have not made their plans known to the public regarding Fields as complications persist for the front office. General manager Ryan Poles said at the NFL Combine that if the Bears were taking a quarterback in the draft he wanted to “do right” by Fields and trade him before free agency.
However, Fields’ draft value tanked during the week of the NFL Combine. The Bears also have yet to receive Williams’ medicals. The Bears will meet with Williams at Halas Hall following USC’s pro day next week.
With quarterback drama on the topic of Bears Twitter, the team announced one decision for the position on Wednesday afternoon. Per a statement, the Bears are signing Brett Rypien to a one-year deal with Chicago.

Rypien is familiar with new Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron. He spent time with Waldron while he was with the Seattle Seahawks last season.

Rypien spent his first three seasons with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. He spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets, and Seahawks last season.

In his five-year career, Rypien has thrown for 950 yards, four touchdowns, and nine interceptions. During OTAs this spring, he will make an excellent camp arm for the Bears.

With whoever will be at QB1 on the Bear’s depth chart.
