Report: Carolina Panthers to sign Los Angeles Rams Star

The Carolina Panthers are making a key addition to the defensive backfield, signing former Los Angeles Rams safety Jordan Fuller.

Fuller is entering his fifth season in the NFL after being drafted out of Ohio State.

He has firmly established himself as one of the better veteran safety presences in the league, serving as a two-time captain for the Rams. He logged 84 tackles, eight passes defended and three interceptions during the 2023 season.

The Panthers were looking for help in the secondary and should get it in the former Rams star.

At his best, Fuller can be a tackling machine. He just has to stay healthy. Fuller played in only three games during the 2022 campaign after he was placed on the injured reserve.

In four seasons so far at the NFL level, Fuller has tallied 256 tackles, 17 passes defended and seven interceptions. He won a Super Bowl LVI ring with the Rams.

Panthers to sign former Jaguars first-rounder

The Carolina Panthers are reportedly signing former Jacksonville Jaguars first-rounder K’Lavon Chaisson to a one-year deal in free agency, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. Chaisson’s rookie deal expired on Wednesday when the Jaguars declined to exercise their fifth-year option on the outside linebacker. Now, the former LSU star will join the Panthers in Year 1 under new head coach Dave Canales.

The former LSU Tigers star came into the NFL with a ton of hype, joining Jacksonville via the No. 20 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, success has been far from guaranteed. Through his first four seasons, he’s posted 73 tackles in 57 games played with five sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.

His new one-year deal with the Panthers has a maximum payout of $5 million. The fifth-year option the Jaguars declined would have netted him $12.14 million.
