Jets May Add This 3x Pro Bowl Receiver To Pair With Aaron Rodgers

It wasn’t just Aaron Rodgers. The New York Jets had a lot of issues with their offense last season.

Part of the problems were up front, with a Jets offensive line that let up 64 sacks in 2023, the fourth-most in the NFL. But that wasn’t all.

The Jets also had trouble at the receiver position, where there was little depth behind Garrett Wilson. Instead, it was tight end Tyler Conklin who ranked second on the team with 621 receiving yards, and even running back Breece Hall came in third, not far behind at 591 yards. After that, there wasn’t a single other player who topped the 311 yards Allen Lazard recorded.

But 2024 is a new year, and before the season kicks off, you can expect Jets GM Joe Douglas to make another addition or two to the team’s receiver depth chart.

One potential option is free agent wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who is coming off a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. Beckham had a bit of a disappointing season in his first year back since suffering a torn ACL in the Rams’ Super Bowl win, but he’s still a player who can help a lot of teams.

According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, OBJ is a player Jets fans should keep an eye on in free agency.

“As for free agents, it’s a middling group that includes a fading star (Odell Beckham Jr.), a star coming off ACL surgery (Mike Williams), a steady WR3 (Tyler Boyd) and another Rodgers crony (Marquez Valdes-Scantling). Williams is reportedly visiting this week. Also keep an eye on Beckham, whom they almost signed last year.”

Beckham Jr. is one of the biggest ‘names’ remaining in NFL free agency. After playing out the season last year on a one-year contract worth up to $15 million, the belief is that the three-time Pro Bowl receiver will have to accept much less this time around.
