Timo Werner update

Well – according to Sky Deutschland – the Germany international has no future at RB Leipzig.

Werner is the Bundesliga outfit’s second highest earner on a salary of £165,000-a-week behind Dani Olmo, and they are keen to offload this sum from the wage bill.

It comes after BILD in Germany claimed that the 28-year-old is loving his time in north London and would like to stay in N17 with Spurs.

Sky Deutschland back this up, claiming that there is interest from both Tottenham and Werner in making the loan deal permanent this summer.

Spurs can trigger a clause to sign the German permanently for just €17m (£15m).

Werner has scored two goals and provided two assists in eight Premier League appearances for Tottenham – Ange Postecoglou’s staff members are also believed to be very impressed with the forward’s attitude since arriving from RB Leipzig in January.

Tottenham must trigger purchase option

However, the Tottenham No.16 is very effective at running in behind and can stretch teams with his speed, which opens up space for the likes of Heung-min Son, so for just £15m, Spurs would be silly not to snap up this bargain option for squad depth.
