One Crystal Palace star has thrived this season and currently leads the league by an impressive margin in one statistic.
According to The Other 14 on X, the Palace man ranks number one in the entire league in tackle success rate.
He has won 77 tackles with his success rate being 85.6 per cent, a whopping tally that is streets ahead of his closest competitor Ryan Yates by 2.3 per cent.
He also beats top-class full-backs like Diogo Dalot, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Destiny Udogie by a substantial margin.
Joining Mitchell in the top 20 in the league is Ayew who is the only attacker on the list, which demonstrates how good he’s been this season.
Despite this impressive form Crystal Palace could look to replace Mitchell
Despite all of his incredible defensive work, Glasner may be looking for a new left wing-back who better fits the attacking duties now assigned.
We have seen Lewis Hall linked in recent weeks which could spell trouble for Mitchell given his strengths lie further back in a defensive role.
This leaves the manager with a predicament with Mitchell a player who has broken through at the club and it’d be a big call to sell him.
His qualities off the ball are simply too good to sell to a rival as well, so Glasner needs to figure out a way to make it work, he could be decent as a centre-halve on the left of the three, assuming an aerially dominant defender is played next to him, given he’s 5ft 8in.
This season Crystal Palace have had several players stand out for different reasons, despite large periods of poor form.
Oliver Glasner has benefitted from the return of Eberechi Eze who has been phenomenal all season when he’s fit, as has Michael Olise who has yet to actually play under Glasner.
Chris Richards has been immense in various positions while Jordan Ayew has enjoyed one of his most impressive seasons.
Another player who has thrived is Tyrick Mitchell and now his excellence in one department has been recognised through data.

24-year-old full-back turned wing-back, Mitchell, has enjoyed an excellent personal season in defence and has proved a near unbeatable prospect for attackers coming up against him.
