Tottenham: Levy signs off on business move

Dan Plumley has insisted that Tottenham did not need to scrap senior season tickets, simply describing it as a “business move”.

Daniel Levy has faced backlash after scrapping the tickets from 2025-26, alongside significant reductions in discounts for current seniors.

The football finance expert admitted that it wasn’t exactly necessary given the revenue-generating potential of the stadium at Spurs.

“It’s a business move,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.

“That doesn’t necessarily mean that it is a necessary business move, and I’ve seen comments from the Spurs Supporters’ Trust that they’ve been liaising with the club on this one and the club has changed its stance on a few things but they’re still disappointed with the outcome and this one in particular.

Of course, it’s a business move, is it one that is necessary? Probably not, given the amount of revenue-generating potential that stadium has, and everything we have talked about with the revenue rise of Spurs.

Yes, the cost of everything has gone up and the cost of the operation of the stadium will be factored in, but it’s when you target certain aspects of tickets like that, especially with OAPs and it just doesn’t sit right with the fans.

I understand that, but of course, it’s a business move but one that necessarily doesn’t have to be taken.”

Daniel Levy signs off on yet another Tottenham business move

Given the huge rise in revenue from the new stadium, placing Spurs alongside the best in the world, you have to question decisions such as these.

Hopefully, some sort of agreement can be reached where this is improved or changed altogether, the fans simply are not happy.
