Cardinals Getting More Calls About No. 4 Pick As 2024 NFL Draft Looms

The Cardinals have the No. 4 four overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft, and with the top three teams — Bears, Commanders and Patriots.

Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort said the team is getting calls about a trade, but he doesn’t expect to make one anytime soon.

“I’d say those phone calls are starting to pick up a little bit. I would say they’ll probably continue into next week when we go down to Florida for the owners’ meetings,” Ossenfort said Wednesday at a press conference.

“I think most teams are in a similar spot to us, starting to finalize their boards, and the pro day pieces are the final on-field pieces for evaluation purposes. So I would imagine some of those conversations will continue to pick up, but honestly, they probably will not get real serious until we get right up until the week of the draft, similar to last year.

“They have definitely picked up, but I would expect that to continue here for the next month.” Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels are all expected to be gone by the time No. 4 comes around, but there are still many intriguing picks potentially available.

Right now, Ohio State wide receiver Harrison is the favorite at that selection.

However, teams looking for a quarterback could trade up to select Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Other wide receivers that are expected to go in the first round include LSU’s Malik Nabers and Washington’s Rome Odunze, while teams who want to beef up their offensive line have their eyes on Notre Dame tackle Joe Alt.

Ossenfort said Arizona is interested in offers from any team.
