The two-time Super Bowl champion, cornerback, L’Jarius Sneed, is moving on to the next club, Tennessee Titans, after the Kansas City Chiefs traded him.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, “Trade: Chiefs are finalizing a deal to send franchise CB L’Jarius Snead to the Titans, per league sources.
Chiefs are expected to receive a 2025 3rd-round pick, in addition to a 2024 7th-round pick flop, while Snead will sign a new contract. Trade is pending physical for Sneed.”
The Kansas City Chiefs are in line to receive a 2025 3rd-round pick and a 2024 7th-round pick swap. At the end of February, the Chiefs gave the prominent cornerback permission to look for a trading partner. The squad applied the franchise tag to Sneed at the start of March, which was an effort to keep him from leaving for free agency without a contract.
Sneed was picked up in the 2020 NFL Draft in the fourth round as the 138th pick and played four seasons with the Chiefs. During his seasons with the squad, he registered 11 interceptions, 8.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hits, and 23 tackles for loss as per the NFL and started sixty-seven games.
Sneed’s rookie contract paid him over $5.5 million and he was scheduled to make $19.8 million for the 2024 campaign after he was franchise tagged.
The Tennessee Titans will be led by newly appointed head coach Brian Callahan for the upcoming 2024 NFL season.
The squad has also added quarterback Mason Rudolph, wide receiver Calvin Ridley, running back Tony Pollard, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, and linebacker Kenneth Murray.
