Ryan Clark Predicts Cowboys Will Draft Top QB Prospect Next Year

After the 2023 NFL season officially came to an end for the Dallas Cowboys, with America’s Team being a massive disappointment in the NFL playoffs, losing to the upstart Green Bay Packers led by Jordan Love, the team and longtime owner Jerry Jones let it be known that star quarterback Dak Prescott was in line for a lucrative long-term contract extension.

This seemed to be a questionable decision by Jones and the Cowboys brass, with Prescott still unable to prove he’s the right man for the job under center during the NFL playoffs, as he’s consistently failed to lead the team to wins in the postseason.

However, the time to get a deal done with Prescott in order to save money and give the Cowboys some salary to work with in NFL free agency was before the free agency period got underway, which they failed to do.

Now, it appears that Prescott’s future beyond the 2024 campaign is up in the air as the team could let him walk in free agency, which has led to some speculation as to what the team might do in the post-Prescott era.

Ryan Clark of ESPN believes NFL legend Deion Sanders could steer his son Shedeur Sanders to be drafted by the Cowboys in the 2025 NFL Draft.

With so much that can happen between now and a year from now, there’s no telling where the Cowboys will be standing and what their plans will be, but they do have to start thinking about the future of the quarterback position in Dallas.

Only time will tell how things pan out for the Cowboys and if Shedeur Sanders turns out to be Prescott’s successor in Dallas.
