Rising CB Prospect To Meet With Jets

The New York Jets aren’t fooling around with improving their defense this year.

Surprisingly, a Canadian Football League (CFL) player could become one of the seven draft selections for New York next month.

A report from Houston reporter Aaron Wilson suggests that Toronto Argonauts cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers is slated to visit the AFC franchise Monday.

Stiggers’ stellar play in 2023 has caught the attention of multiple franchises, including the New York Jets this year.

Another media report suggests that the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, and Houston Texans have also expressed interest after his Pro Day performance two weeks ago.

After dropping out of college in 2020, Stiggers returned to the field in 2022 in the short-lived Fan Controlled Football league, an indoor football league, when he caught the Argonauts’ attention.

Defensively, Stiggers was the Rookie of the Year in 2023 as he became an immediate starter for Toronto.

In 2023, Stiggers played in 16 regular season CFL games, recording 58 tackles and five interceptions.

Adding him would be an impressive move for the Jets as New York has made several notable signings this offseason.

Defensively, New York has also signed defensive tackles Javon Kinlaw and Leki Fotu to replace Quinton Jefferson, who left for the Cleveland Browns.
