Leicester City came from behind on Monday afternoon to secure a 3-1 victory over Norwich City and bounce back from defeat in their previous outing.

Leicester City initially found themselves behind after Gabriel Sara’s opener, but a Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall header ensured things were level at the break. Stephy Mavididi and Jamie Vardy then completed the comeback in the second half.

Victory at the King Power stadium saw the Foxes momentarily return to top of the table before Ipswich Town and Leeds United won their respective fixtures later in the day, pushing the East Midlands outfit back down into 3rd spot in the Championship.

There were plenty of top performances across the board for Enzo Maresca’s side. S good handful of which were given 8/10 ratings from Leicestershire Live reporter Jordan Blackwell, though Manchester City loanee Callum Doyle received a great review in particular.

The 20-year-old defender put in a resilient performance at the back for the Foxes and rightly earned his praises after the match with Blackwell saying this:

“Supported Mavididi down the left in attacks throughout the game, mixing his game up with crosses from deep or runs in behind himself. His forward passing with his sweet left foot was excellent at times, and makes City a different proposition. Defensively solid against [Jack] Stacey.”

Doyle doing the business

Although the youngster may not have quite had the impact he would have hoped for this season due to missing a large spell through injury, he slotted in excellently on the left on Monday afternoon and proved his worth to the side.

The youngster is gaining valuable experience with Leicester following his time with Coventry City during the last campaign. Looking ahead to next season, it will be interesting to see what the plan is for his development when back at Manchester City.

He has made 20 appearances for Maresca’s men this season, registering two assists in that time alongside playing a part in nine clean sheets in all competitions.

Doyle and the Foxes face the visit of Birmingham City in their next Championship outing on Saturday afternoon, looking to establish themselves once more as title favourites.
