Bears Hosted Michigan Offensive Lineman Tuesday

The Chicago Bears find themselves in a unique position heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.

Not only do the Bears have the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, but they also have the No. 9 pick, giving them two of the top-ten options.

While drafting a quarterback with the No. 1 pick seems obvious, the team’s plan for the ninth position is a mystery.

Fans and analysts have tried to predict what the team will do, but to this point, the Bears have kept their cards close to their chest.

As reporter Jacob Infante recently highlighted, the Bears did meet with offensive lineman Trevor Keegan, who is coming off a national championship with Michigan

Infante did mention that Keegan is local to the area, which could be a reason for the Bears to consider him in the first round.

If they are going to take a quarterback first overall, they’ll want to make sure they can protect him to the fullest ability.

Keegan could certainly help them get to a better place in pass protection.

Will he be the best player available at No. 9?

With the number of quarterbacks slated to fly off the board within the first five picks, the Bears could have an elite wide receiver or tight end prospect fall into their laps, or perhaps, a strong defensive option.

It is impossible to know what other teams are going to do in the draft, which is why they are staying focused and diligent in meeting with players like Keegan.
