Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo is open to a change in the summer after Manchester United and Aston Villa opened talks with his entourage.
The 30-year-old Italian right back had seemed certain of closing out his career in the Campania capital, but things have changed over the course of this season. He has been left frustrated and disappointed by the club’s management, unhappy with their post Scudetto collapse.
Despite Napoli’s difficulties this term, Di Lorenzo has still managed to perform well despite the shaky form, scoring twice and providing seven assists across 40 appearances. He seems destined to be Italy’s starting right back under Luciano Spalletti at the upcoming European Championship.

Il Mattino via TMW details how Manchester United and Aston Villa have both made contact with Di Lorenzo’s entourage to explore the idea of a summer transfer. He made it clear that he was open to a possible transfer, facilitating further negotiations.
The 30-year-old Italian full back is expected to ask for a meeting with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis at some point in the coming weeks, wanting to understand the club’s plans and project ahead of next season.
Di Lorenzo, who is contracted to the Partenopei until June 2028, has scored 15 goals and provided 35 assists across 224 games for the club.
