Tottenham Hotspur have had their Premier League clashes against Chelsea and Liverpool rescheduled.
The north London outfit will now take on Chelsea on the 2nd of May and Liverpool on the fifth of the month. Tottenham will also take on bitter rivals Arsenal at home later this month on the 28th.
Therefore, they will be up against three top clubs in the span of seven days and that certainly presents a nightmare scenario for them at this stage of the season.
Tottenham are currently fighting for Champions League qualification and they are fifth in the league table. They cannot afford to drop points right now and they will have to treat each game like a cup final.
Aston Villa are currently above them in the league table and the West Midlands club will be hoping to take advantage of any slip-ups from the Londoners.
Tottenham will face fixture congestion
Facing three top teams in the space of a week will certainly put the players under a lot of pressure and it will be interesting to see if Ange Postecoglou can rotate his squad diligently and get through the games.
Tottenham have shown great improvement under the Australian manager this season, but they need to finish in the top four in order to develop further. They will need to improve their squad during the summer transfer window and securing European qualification could help them attract better players.
Missing out on the Champions League would be a devastating blow for them and it remains to be seen whether they can deal with the fixture congestion and finish the season strongly.
