Texans Waive Former Cardinals Pass Rusher

Former Arizona Cardinals edge player Myjai Sanders now is off the Houston Texans’ roster.

The Houston Texans waived former Arizona Cardinals edge player Myjai Sanders today, per the team website.

Sanders first entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, where he featured in 13 games for Arizona in his rookie season and started four. He tallied 23 total tackles, three passes defensed, three sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovered in his first season.

Sanders was waived last October after landing on injured reserve with a hand injury. He missed all of preseason action and didn’t feature in a regular season game for Arizona before being waived.

Sanders was picked up by Houston where he appeared in seven games for the Texans, tallying seven tackles in his sophomore campaign.

Now, Sanders (who will turn 26 in July) is set to find his third team in as many years in the league after being a two-time first team All-AAC member with the Cincinnati Bearcats in college.

Though he may not land on a squad with plenty of playing time available, Sanders’ 6-5 frame could be a nice depth piece on a training camp roster with more room to improve.
