Tottenham eyeing 24-year-old star who is on Postecoglou’s list since day one

Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in the services of Conor Gallagher.

The North London club are looking at ways to further bolster their squad and provide Ange Postecoglou with the resources needed to challenge the best clubs in the country and Europe.

Tottenham’s priority heading into the summer will be to bring in a new central midfielder and they have been linked with Chelsea academy graduate Conor Gallagher for a long while now.

The 24-year-old England international has been on their wishlist since last summer. They did want to sign him in the last two transfer windows but unfortunately, things didn’t go according to plan. However, they remain interested in his services and could make a move in the upcoming summer transfer window according to Fabrizio Romano.

Romano via GiveMeSport: “Conor Gallagher remains on Tottenham’s shortlist. He’s a super-appreciated player at Spurs. He’s been on Ange Postecoglou’s list since day one and has always been a player he loves. So, I think Tottenham will be there if Chelsea decide to sell the player in the summer transfer window. But for sure, Gallagher remains a player that is appreciated by Tottenham, and they’re waiting for Chelsea’s final decision on that one.”

Despite being one of the mainstays at Chelsea this season under Mauricio Pochettino, the future of Gallagher still remains uncertain. His contract with the Blues runs out in the summer of 2025 and if they fail to extend his stay before the start of the transfer window, things could get complicated.

With just a year left on his deal, they will have to consider selling him as they are unlikely to risk losing out on the England international for free. Gallagher remains on Spurs’ wishlist and they will be the first one to make a move if he is made available.

Ange Postecoglou feels the 24-year-old is an ideal fit for his system, as a result, the Chelsea star has been on his list since day one. Gallagher is a player everyone at Tottenham admires and they are waiting for the final decision of the Blues on their academy graduate. If they decide to sell, the North London club are expected to push hard to sign him.
