Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers will not face discipline from the NFL following a domestic violence investigation earlier this year.
The NFL concluded that there was insufficient evidence to support a finding that Flowers violated the league’s personal conduct policy.
Flowers set rookie records last season with 77 receptions and 858 receiving yards.
Flowers was the No. 22 pick in the NFL draft a year ago. The investigation began when a woman called 911 in January, claiming she was involved in a “violent” domestic incident with an NFL player.
The woman also accused the player’s brother of pulling a gun on her.
The investigation was later suspended without any criminal charges being filed. The league’s decision means that Flowers remains eligible to participate in all team activities.
The Ravens’ first-round pick in 2023, Flowers had an impressive rookie season, setting franchise records in catches and receiving yards. He also totaled six touchdowns.
Flowers will enter the upcoming season as the Ravens’ No. 1 receiver. The team has re-signed veteran Nelson Agholor but lost Odell Beckham Jr. and Devin Duvernay from last year’s receiving group.
The Ravens are expected to target another wide receiver in the draft. The woman involved in the investigation did not provide additional details, and the case is now considered inactive by both the police and the NFL.
Flowers can now fully focus on participating in team activities and preparing for the upcoming season.
