Leeds United likely to accept £30m Gnonto offer

Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto will be available for £20-30million this summer and the club will accept an offer at the higher end of that threshold, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that other clubs will be actively monitoring the winger in the summer transfer window.

O’Rourke explained that the 20-year-old has had previous interest from Premier League clubs, as well as clubs from Italy.

But he added that the Whites will not want to sell star men such as Gnonto, with promotion this season certain to help them in that endeavour.

Promotion back to the Premier League will also allow the Elland Road club to spend money on new players and strengthen their squad for the top flight, O’Rourke added.

The Whites currently sit third in the Championship table, with an immediate promotion back to the top flight on the cards this season.

Gnonto has been key to their success under Daniel Farke, with the Italian having made 38 appearances in all competitions.

The 20-year-old has registered eight goals and two assists, but has often struggled to land a regular starting role.

It remains to be seen what his future at Elland Road holds, with the future of Leeds certain to have a major say in where Gnonto and indeed other Whites stars end up playing their football next season.

Sources told Football Insider in February that Gnonto is expected to gain Premier League interest this summer, along with his Leeds teammates Ethan Ampadu, Crysencio Summerville and Joe Rodon.
