Jason Kelce’s wife shows off retirement gift for him

Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL on March 4 after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. But to his surprise, his wife Kylie Kelce has been planning for this moment for two years.

Kylie Kelce took to her Instagram Story on Monday to share pictures of the thoughtful gift she had been planning for her husband, a wooden replica of Lincoln Financial Field.

The replica was crafted by wood artist Dana Theobald, and features the wooden stadium, together with a plaque dedicated to Jason, along with his uniform number – No. 62, since he was drafted by the Eagles in 2011 – his six First Team All-Pro honors, seven Pro Bowl honors and the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory in 2018.

“I messaged @danatheo.designs TWO years ago! She came up with this beautiful custom design and then waited for me to give the retirement green light and J’s final list of accolades,” Kylie Kelce captioned in a close-up photo of the stats etched onto wood.

In another photo, Kelce shared a video from the designer. “Thank you so much @danatheo.designs for your patience and the perfect retirement gift!” Kylie Kelce reiterated. “It meant the world to me!”

The couple met on Tinder in 2014 and were married four years later. The Kelces now share daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 1.

The two celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary shortly after his retirement announcement, where he mentioned his devoted wife and credited her for her undying support.

“I won’t forget the Eagles Christmas party in 2014, and heading out afterward with a bunch of my teammates to Buffalo Billiards, where my life would change forever,” he recounted, getting choked up. “That night, I’d meet my future wife.”

Jason Kelce added: “I still remember the moment she walked through the door. The first instance is burned into my retina. It was like she glided through the opening, an aura around her, then she started talking. And I thought, ‘Man, is this what love feels like?’”

“I think it’s no coincidence I have enjoyed my best years of my career with Kylie by my side. Every accolade I have ever received has come with her in my life,” Jason said in his press conference at Lincoln Financial. “She has brought the best out of me through love, devotion, support, honesty, intelligence, and of course, a swift kick in the [expletive] from time to time.”
