Tottenham agree deal to sign young striker

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign striker sensation George Feeney, sources have told Football Insider.

Spurs have beaten multiple Premier League clubs in the race to sign the 16-year-old from Northern Irish side Glentoran.

The forward is the son of former Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney and he has earned rave reviews following his performances for Glentoran since making his debut as a 15-year-old.

The Premier League’s elite clubs have been keeping a close eye on his progress, with the battle for the teenager’s signature intensifying in recent months.

Tottenham have been successful in luring the youngster and he will now complete a move to north London this summer.

Tottenham win race to sign striker George Feeney

Feeney has scored one goal in his 10 appearances for Glentoran after breaking into the first team this season.

He was handed his debut in September last year by his father, who managed the Northern Irish side before his departure in March.

The teenager switched international allegiances from Northern Ireland to Wales this year after featuring for their U-16s team.

Feeney will now make the move to Tottenham after they have persuaded him north London is the best place for him to continue his development.

Although it’s likely to be some time before the forward is involved in the first-team picture, there are expected to be plenty of changes to the Spurs squad once the transfer window reopens.

Ange Postecoglou has publicly claimed he wants “drastic change” this summer after sources told Football Insider a “huge” overhaul is being planned to ensure the squad is capable of playing his high-octane brand of football.
