Janke Brothers look to catch on with Houston Texans

Madison & SDSU alums work out with Texans as undrafted rookie free agents at minicamp

HOUSTON, TX (Dakota News Now) – All Jaxon and Jadon Janke have ever known on a football field is playing together.

Though that’s continuing for now in the NFL there’s something different happening at Houston Texans rookie minicamp.

They’re competing against each other.

The brothers have played together since they were little growing up in Madison, becoming All-State performers in high school with the Bulldogs, and then All-Americans and two-time FCS National Champions at South Dakota State University.

Now they’re trying to earn roster spots with the Houston Texans as undrafted rookie free agents, each working out and catching passes during rookie minicamp last week Houston (Jaxon is wearing #81 and Jadon wearing #83 in the video above).

Both are hoping to catch on with the Texans and earn either a spot on the 53-man roster or on the practice squad. That, however, means the brothers could and likely will be competing against each other for a coveted roster.

The Texans will hold OTA’s May 20-21, May 23, May 29-31, June 3-4 and June 6 with a mandatory team minicamp June 11-13. Training camp with be announced at a later date.
