Leeds United set for six-figure windfall

Leeds United are set to earn over £400,000 from UEFA after having three players named in squads for Euro 2024, according to London World.

Writing on their website (17 June), the news outlet report that all clubs represented at the international tournament in Germany this summer will earn £140,000 for every player they have at the competition as part of the Club Benefits Scheme.

The Whites have Rasmus Kristensen in the Denmark squad, Max Wober in the Austria squad and Liam Cooper representing Scotland at the tournament, and therefore should pocket £420,000 in a break of good fortune for the club.

Are Leeds United in financial trouble?

The 49ers took over the club as owners last year and have run the club brilliantly since, with several high-profile celebrities buying minority stakes in the club as part of a plan to build the club’s profile globally.

Superstars like Will Ferrell, Michael Phelps and Jordan Spieth have all bought in, while a deal with Red Bull was announced last month to inject fresh investment into the club as well as seeing them don the front of the shirt as the new sponsor.

But Paraag Marathe has admitted that sales are likely this summer after failure to earn promotion to the Premier League under Daniel Farke, and there are several players who are likely to be targeted.

However with the club’s finances in a great place, and boosted further by this lovely windfall also, there is no pressure to sell anyone for a cut-price fee or to panic.

Leeds are in excellent hands right now and the 49ers have got the best interests of the club at heart, so fans have no need to worry about the state the club is currently in.

In other Leeds news, the club’s stance has emerged after a club made their move to sign Crysencio Summerville.
