Ipswich Town West Ham United and eye Celtic defender

Ipswich Town, West Ham and Fulham are all keen on signing Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers over the summer, according to HITC.

The news outlet reported on 17 June that despite having one of the smallest budgets in the league, the Ipswich board will be backing Kieran McKenna for new signings.

The 26-year-old is the captain of the Scottish club and is currently in the United States where he’s representing his country in the Copa America.

Celtic may spark a bidding war amid West Ham, Ipswich Town and Fulham interest

Celtic could potentially spark a bidding war for the United States international by leveraging the interest from multiple Premier League clubs.

The Scottish champions might use this competition to drive up the defender’s price, ensuring they get the best possible deal for a player who has been a key figure in their recent successes.

The Hammers, in their bid to secure the services of the 26-year-old, could offer a more lucrative contract than Ipswich Town and Fulham, who may have smaller budgets.

The Hammers could also highlight their recent success in European competitions and their ambitions for the future to entice the centre-back.

Additionally, the Irons could offer a higher transfer fee to Celtic, making their bid more attractive than those from Ipswich Town and Fulham.

It remains to be seen just how high up he is on Julen Lopetegui’s transfer list as that will dictate the urgency of proceedings.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the free transfer of a player who’s set to leave a Premier League club this month.
