Galatasaray see £7m bid for ‘exceptional’ Leeds United target target rejected

Leeds United’s bitter rivals Galatasaray have seen a £7m bid rejected for a player linked with a move to Elland Road this week, with the Turkish club expected to return with an improved offer.

The Whites are in the market for a new right-back with Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle a target for Leeds this summer. Daniel Farke’s side have tabled two £4m bids differently structured, but both rejected.

Bramall Lane star Bogle, 23, is not the only right-back Leeds are said to be after this summer. Mali and Montpellier defender Falaye Sacko has been linked, while a return for Connor Roberts is a possibility.

But one Championship star also on Leeds’ radar this summer has just emerged as the subject of a £7m bid from Galatasaray, with the Turkish side keen to lure him away from British football for the first time.

Galatasaray have £7m bid rejected for excellent Leeds target

The player in question is Sunderland right-back Trai Hume. The Black Cats’ 23-year-old came into 2023-24 having only managed 37 appearances for Sunderland in his first 18 months at the Stadium of Light.

By the end of the season, he had started all 46 Championship games for Sunderland. “Exceptional” right-back Hume is a target for Leeds this summer, but also Aston Villa, Napoli, Leicester and Bournemouth.

Sunderland want a fee of £8m to sell Northern Ireland defender Hume. Now, the Belfast Telegraph claim Leeds’ rivals Galatasaray have tabled a fee of £7m to lure the defender to Turkey, but it has been rejected.
