Scheierman made a 3-pointer with 1:39 remaining that tied the game, 96-96, but the 76ers (4-1) closed the game on a 7-2 run, started by a 3-pointer from David Jones, who led all scorers with 23 points.
The Celtics (2-3) had five players finish in double figures with Jordan Walsh leading the way with 18 points to go along with 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. Jalelen House chipped in with 17 points, 6 assists, and 4 assists in 25 minutes off the bench.
