“Disappointing” – West Brom: The Hawthorns atmosphere was questioned

The ‘Terrace Talk’ series from Football League World features the perspectives of our FLW Fan Pundits on a variety of topics, including teams, players, managers, potential signings, and breaking news.

One of the Championship’s early pace-setters this year has been West Bromwich Albion.

The atmosphere among Albion supporters right now is one of hope following their play-off appearance and best result since their 2021 Premier League relegation.

The Baggies’ fortunes have radically changed when Carlos Corberan took over; the Spaniard is regarded as one of the top tacticians in the division.

This is supported by the optimism fostered by Shilen Patel, who took over in the boardroom of The Hawthorns towards the end of Guochuan Lai’s turbulent time as the club’s owner in late February.

The B71 group has consistently had a good amount of attendance over the years, and it’s reasonable to argue that because of the previously described reasons, at least the number of attendees has increased significantly compared to previous seasons.

Commentary from a West Brom supporter weighs in on the Baggies’ home support

Callum Burgess, our Albion fan analyst, was questioned by Football League World about the attendance trends in this West Midlands region thus far this season.

Although attendance numbers have significantly improved, Burgess said that as the season goes on, certain parts of the audience might still be improved.
